Last year, the divisional champion in the javelin was DQ’d because of uniform. No one will tell you anything until divisionals and THEY WILL DQ YOU!
No radios, recorders, iPods, cell phones or video cameras will be allowed in competition area.
No jewelry will be allowed on competitors. Watches are allowed, but participants may wear only one watch during competition. The watch must be unadorned and may be worn only on the wrist.
No headwear, except headbands, will be allowed unless inclement weather is encountered or in special circumstances, such as health conditions or religious considerations. A headband is any item that goes around the head (including elastic strips/bands, pre-wrap, moisture-absorbing terry cloth etc.) If worn, only one headband is permitted. Headbands may be a maximum of 2 inches wide and must be a single, solid color and be moisture-absorbing, non-abrasive and unadorned except for a manufacturer’s logo and/or a school logo. The headbands shall have no jewelry attached.
Athletes must wear school issued uniform in competition area.
No portion of the team uniform, except shoes, may be removed in the finish area of track events or in the immediate area of competition for field events. The uniform must be worn as intended by the manufacturer. If applicable, the jersey must be tucked into the shorts for all competition.
In relay races, each team member shall wear the same color and design of school uniform although the length of the bottom may vary. Visible garments worn under both the top and bottom do not have to be the same color. If worn by more than one team member (two or more) that garment must be the same color, but not necessarily the same length.
Any visible garment worn underneath the uniform top of bottom shall be a single, solid color (INCLUDING STITCHING) and unadorned except for:
1.A single school name or insignia
2.A single, visible manufacturer’s logo. (Under Armor cannot have insignia on neck and back)
Penalty: For an illegal uniform or wearing jewelry, the competitor is disqualified from the event.
